Vodacom “Stand a chance to get 3 months of your bill*” Competition

In celebration of Vodacom's 30th birthday, Vodacom (Pty) Ltd ("Vodacom") is running the Vodacom "Stand a chance to get 3 months of your bill*" Competition (the "Competition") where sixty (60) lucky Vodacom customers stand a chance of winning three (3) months of their bill paid to the maximum value of R1,200 per month when taking up a new contract or upgrading to a qualifying Vodacom Home Internet LTE Contract or qualifying Vodacom Home Fibre Contract, during the Competition period.  

All participants during the term of the Competition agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:
 

Duration

  1. The Competition is open to all new and existing Vodacom customers who take up a new, or upgrade to, one of the following qualifying contracts online, from 09h00 on 4 April 2024 to 23h59 on 05 June 2024 (the "End Date"):

  1. The duration of the Competition may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Vodacom.


Prizes

  1. Monthly, thirty (30) lucky Vodacom customers stand a chance of winning three (3) months' bills paid by Vodacom to the maximum value of R1,200 per month inclusive. Monthly, -  

  • fifteen (15) qualifying participants who took up a new, or upgraded to, one of the qualifying Vodacom Home Internet LTE Contracts; and

  • fifteen (15) qualifying participants who took up a new, or upgraded to, one of the qualifying Vodacom Home Fibre Contract (50Mbps and above);

  • will be randomly selected as winners.

  • In total, there will be thirty (30) lucky winners per month, and sixty (60) winners in total.

  • Each individual prize winner's total prize value is determined by the type of qualifying contract, to a maximum payment of R1,200 per month.

  • Customers will forfeit any promotional discount that is running on FTTH, should they win the zero rating of their invoice


Eligibility

  1. Only entries received during the Competition period as stipulated in clause 1 above will qualify as potential winners.

  2.  The Competition is only open to natural persons (at least 18 years and older). Entries received from business accounts held by legal persons (amongst other Corporates and SMEs, etc.) are excluded from participating and winning in the Competition.

  3. Only entrants who are using SIM cards that have been RICA registered are eligible to win the Competition. Each owner of a SIM card(s) is responsible to comply with South African law by RICA registering their SIM cards.

  4. Employees, directors and agents of Vodacom and all participating stores, their immediate families, life partners, business partners and associates and any person directly involved with the sponsoring, devising, production, management or marketing of this Competition are not eligible to participate in this Competition.

  5. Participants must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid South African identity document or permanent residence permit or temporary residence permit valid for a period exceeding 3 (three) months for the Republic of South Africa and valid at the End Date.

  6. In the event that the user of the mobile phone (i.e. the participant in the Competition) is not the person that is responsible for payment of the participating mobile phone account/ charges, then the prize will be awarded to the person that is responsible for payment of the participating mobile phone account/ charges. 
     


Valid Entry

  1. In order to stand a chance of winning in the Competition, qualifying entrants - 

  • must sign up for, or upgrade to, any Qualifying Contract online during the Competition period; and

  • will be automatically entered into the Competition where all Competition requirements are met. 

  1. Participants can buy as many products as possible to enter multiple times.

  2. The product can be bought on its own or as part of a combo.

  3. There are no additional charges for participating in the Competition apart from the standard data costs to upload a valid entry, as explained in clause 12 above.  Standard data costs apply as per the user's Service Provider and existing price plan for data usage.

  4. Vodacom shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the winners for entering the Competition or in claiming any prizes, where applicable. 


Prize draw

  1. The winners will be selected from all eligible entries who meet all the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions. The verified winner winners will be notified within three (3) working days after he / she has been selected and verified as a winner. 

  2. The winners will be randomly drawn via a randomizer in the following two (2) batches

  • 1st batch of thirty (30) monthly winners - 5 May 2024 ;

  • 2nd batch of thirty (30) monthly winners - 5 June 2024; and
     

  1. Each entry carries an equal weight. 


Winner Validation

  1.  All the information provided or related to this Competition shall be managed, captured and approved by Vodacom.

  2. Vodacom will share personal details of the respective winners, such as name and contact number with a Vodacom internal staff, who will notify the respective winners that they have won in the Competition, and you hereby agree to such disclosure as is necessary to effect prize fulfilment.

  3. Vodacom will use reasonable efforts to contact the winners telephonically on the contact details provided by the participants to participate in the Competition.  

  4. Vodacom shall attempt to contact the winners for a period of 10 (ten) normal working weekdays after their names have been drawn and verified as winners.  The winners will be contacted during normal working hours, between 8 (eight) in the morning and 5 (five) in the afternoon.  Winners will be advised of arrangements in respect of prizes at the time of contacting the selected winners.

  5. Should a participant not be available on the contact details provided during the timeframe stipulated above or rejects, forfeits or declines acceptance of the prize, that person's right to the prize will be deemed to have been waived and the prize will be forfeited. Vodacom reserves the right to then award the prize to the next randomly drawn participant.

  6. The claim for any prize will be subject to security and validation, and Vodacom reserves the right to withhold any prize until it is satisfied that the claim by a particular winner is valid.  The selected winners must be able to identify themselves, in a manner determined by Vodacom, as the qualifying entrants to the Competition and have to comply with the required validation procedure, determined by Vodacom, in order to claim any prizes, failing which such winner will forfeit the prize and the prize will be awarded to the next selected qualifying entrant. 

  7. Notwithstanding the fact that the prizes vest in the winners immediately upon the determination of the results, in the event that the required documentation from a particular winner has not been received at the agreed cut-off date communicated to the winner, or no effort is made on the part of any of the winners to make special arrangements to meet the deadline set by Vodacom, such prize will be forfeited. Vodacom then reserves the right to award the prize to the finalist that is next in line. 
     

  8. The winners' name and location will be displayed on https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/shopping/v/competition-winners after a period of 10(ten) working days subsequent to notification of the winners.

  9. Vodacom shall request the winners' consent in writing to their image and/or likeness being used and published by Vodacom in connection with the Competition for a period of 12 (twelve) months after they have been announced as winners. The winners may decline the use of their image and/or likeness by Vodacom.

 

Prize Delivery

  1. All prizes will be fulfilled through automatic deduction on the customer's bill.
  2. In order to effect arrangements required for the prize fulfilment in terms of this Competition, Vodacom will share personal details of the respective winners, such as name and surname, contact number and physical address, with the Vodacom Billing team, and you hereby agree to such disclosure as is necessary to effect prize fulfilment .

  3. The Vodacom Billing team will execute on removing the allocated amount on the customer's bill.

  4. The warranty of the prize is only valid provided the installation of the prize is done by a registered and recognised installer of such products. The warranty will be deemed null and void should the installation be done by unrecognised or unregistered parties.

  5. No prize is transferable or exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash.

  6. If a winner cannot accept a prize for any reason whatsoever, the prize will be awarded to the next selected entrant.

  7. All risks and ownership of the prizes shall pass to the winners on transfer/delivery thereof and hence all of Vodacom's obligations in regard to the Competition as well as in regard to the prizes shall terminate. 

 

Personal information

  1. User data collected via the Competition will not be used for any other purpose than for execution of the Competition.

  2. User data collected via entry for this Competition will be stored for as long as it is legally required to and in accordance with Vodacom's Privacy Policy, http://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/privacy-policy 


General

  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the participant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA").

  2. The judges' decision on any aspect of the Competition including the allocation of the prizes will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

  3. In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the Competition and/or the Terms and Conditions, Vodacom's decision will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  4. Vodacom may refuse to award a prize if entry procedures or these Terms and Conditions have not been adhered to or if it detects any irregularities or fraudulent practices.  Vodacom is entitled in its entire discretion to reject any participant for any reason and will not be obliged to notify participants that they are rejected.  

  5. Vodacom and/or any other person or party associated with the Competition, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors and any of its personnel involved in the Competition, shall not be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered (including but not limited to direct or indirect or consequential loss), death or personal injury suffered or sustained arising from either participation in the Competition or from claiming the prize. 

  6. Vodacom is not liable for any technical failures affecting participation and / or prize redemption process of the Competition.  In addition, neither Vodacom nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating in and/or the prize redemption process of the Competition.

  7. Vodacom, its directors, employees, agents and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of any prize nor in respect of any warranties, guarantees or undertakings given by any person other than Vodacom itself.

  8. If Vodacom is required by law to alter or cancel any aspect of the Competition or to terminate it as a result of changes in legislation, or for any reason whatsoever, it will have the right to terminate the Competition being offered, with immediate effect and without notice. In such event all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against Vodacom and its associated companies, agents, contractors and/or sponsors. 

  9. All information relating to the Competition which is published on any marketing material will form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between such marketing material and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

RED VIP Price Plans

General Terms & Conditions

  1. The following Terms and Conditions apply to the Vodacom RED VIP price plans. These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with the standard Terms and Conditions outlined in the Vodacom Contract airtime agreement and the Terms and Conditions Booklet. In cases of conflicting terms, the Vodacom RED VIP plans Terms and Conditions will take precedence.
  2. These Terms and Conditions do not replace any existing agreements or contracts between the customer and Vodacom.
  3. Your subscription to the Service signifies your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Vodacom reserves the right to modify the Service(s) as necessary and may periodically expand these Terms and Conditions. You will be bound by all current Terms and Conditions.
  4. The voice allocation included in Vodacom RED VIP price plans is available for use for calls to any local network within South Africa at any time of day.
  5. The voice and SMS services are provided with an unlimited allocation, thus there is no carry over of service rule which applies. However, the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is reset to zero at the start of each month.
  6. Data allocated in Vodacom RED VIP price plans can be carried over for up to one calendar month after the allocation month. Customers have the option to transfer or roll over unused data when their bundle expires, in accordance with existing business rules.   7. If you migrate to or from a RED/RED+ or My Red Price Plan that includes limitless voice and/or SMS options, there will be no carry-over of any voice bundles, free minutes, or SMS bundles related to this Price Plan. (Please refer to the data transfer Terms & Conditions - https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/data-bundle-transfer-terms-and-conditions).
  8. When migrating from a Price Plan that includes bundled Voice, SMS, or Data to any other Price Plan, regardless of whether the new Price Plan offers bundled Voice, SMS, or Data, you may forfeit all or part of the accumulated bundles.
  9. Migrations from RED/RED+ or My Red Price Plans with limitless Voice and SMS benefits will not carry over any benefits to the new Vodacom RED VIP Price Plan.
  10. The voice bundles allocated on Vodacom RED VIP price plans can be used in the following scenarios:
  11. Calls from Vodacom to Cell C, MTN, Vodacom, and Telkom Mobile (Any Network, Any Time) within South Africa, including VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and VoWi-Fi (Voice over Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi Calling) calls made using compatible devices.
  12. Calls from Vodacom to landlines and all VAN numbers (VANS 087 numbers, geographic and non-geographic numbers, Vodacom Business).
  13. Bundled voice and unlimited voice offers do not apply to international calls, roaming calls, or VoIP data calls made on compatible devices.
  14. The following calls are included with the unlimited voice offer, except when the dialled B party number is on the exclusion list below, which will not be part of the unlimited voice allocation:
  • Bridge Conference Calls
  • Directory Enquiries / Through Connect portion.
  1. The following categories are excluded from all Vodacom RED VIP Voice/SMS bundles, unless specified otherwise:
  • International calls
  • Premium-rated calls
  • Roaming services
  • Premium-rated IVR
  • Premium-rated Dicon
  • Special Short Codes
  • Video IVR
  • International VAS and Premium services
  • Travel Talk
  • Conference Calls
  • Call Sponsor (sponsored calls are charged at the sponsored party’s prevailing price plan rate)
  1. Vodacom RED VIP price plans with the unlimited voice benefit will be subject to an acceptable usage policy.
  2. Vodacom RED VIP Price Plans with the Unlimited Voice benefit will adhere to an acceptable monthly usage policy. When the threshold of 15,000 minutes is reached, outbound voice calls will be barred until a voice bundle is purchased.. The counter resets at the beginning of each calendar month. Vodacom reserves the right to implement protection measures to safeguard customers’ experiences and the Vodacom network against abuse, ensuring continuous service quality.
  3. Intelligent call routing devices and bulk calling applications are not permitted on these price plans. If the SIM card is used in a fixed location or another device to regularly make calls that abuse the unlimited Voice offer, the service will be suspended immediately.
  4. Vodacom reserves the right to suspend the service in cases of suspected abuse involving non-compliant devices as specified by the regulating body ICASA being used on the Vodacom network.
  5. The unlimited voice offer on selected Vodacom RED VIP Price Plan(s) may not be used for commercial purposes. Any use deemed excessive for private, non-commercial purposes or through mechanisms not intended for personal use will be considered abuse.
  6. Unlimited voice minutes may not be used for any bulk calling service for commercial or business purposes.
  7. Vodacom RED VIP Price Plans with Unlimited voice minutes are not available to WASPs or content providers.
  8. Customers on Vodacom RED VIP price plans will qualify for three or four free Data Sharing SIM cards.
  9. The Data Sharing SIM cards will be activated upon request by the account holder.
  10. The Unlimited SMS option available on Vodacom RED VIP price plans includes both on-net and off-net national SMS.
  11. The following SMS categories are excluded from the unlimited SMS bundle benefit:
  • International
  • Premium-rated
  1. The unlimited SMS allocation will be valid for the duration of the contract and while on any Vodacom RED VIP price plans that include unlimited SMS as part of the standard offer.
  2. Vodacom RED VIP price plans with an unlimited SMS allocation will be subject to an acceptable usage policy.
  3. Vodacom RED VIP price plans will have a Fair Usage Policy applied to the Unlimited SMS feature of 9,000 SMS messages per month. Customers will receive notifications when they have 1,000 SMS messages remaining, and when all 9,000 SMS messages have been used, SMS sending will be blocked until an SMS bundle is purchased. The counter resets at the beginning of each calendar month. Any excessive usage that may impact network operations may be monitored. Vodacom reserves the right to implement measures to protect customers’ experiences and ensure the sustainability of the service.
  4. SMS messages may not be used for any bulk SMS sending service for commercial or business purposes.
  5. Vodacom RED VIP price plans and SMS bundles are not available to WASPs or content providers and cannot be used for bulk messaging.
  6. If the SIM card is used in a fixed geographic location to regularly send bulk SMS messages to multiple numbers, the service will be suspended immediately.
  7. Vodacom reserves the right to suspend the service in cases of suspected abuse involving non-compliant devices as specified by the regulating body ICASA being used on the Vodacom network.
  8. The unlimited SMS offer on Vodacom RED VIP is intended for reasonable private, non-commercial use. Any usage outside this intent or through mechanisms not designed for personal use will be considered abuse.
  9. Vodacom RED VIP price plans, signed for 24 months, commence on the activation date. You can upgrade or renew in month 22. For enquires or guidelines with regards to early contract termination, you can contact us on 0821958 or visit our contract terms and conditions page (https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/contract-terms-and-conditions) to get more info.  At the end of the 24-month contractual period, if the customer does not renew or cancel the contract, it will continue a month-to-month basis.

How to Cancel Your Vodacom RED VIP Contract Early:

  • Request an Early Cancellation Quote: Contact Vodacom on 0821958 to request an early cancellation quote or visit our contract terms and conditions page (https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/contract-terms-and-conditions) to get more information with regards to  Vodacom's cancellation process.
  • Review and Approve the Quote: Carefully review the cancellation quote to understand the associated costs. Once you agree with the charges, formally approve the quote.
  • Pay the Premature Cancellation Quoted Amount & Choose a Cancellation Date: Make payment as per the cancellation quote and choose a date for cancellation, following the 30-day notice period,  which begins after your official approval of the cancellation quote.
  1. Vodacom RED VIP price plans activated mid-month will have their associated bundle allocations (Voice, SMS, and Data), as well as the monthly subscription fee, prorated for that month based on the day of activation.
  2. Vodacom reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, and where such changes are material, Vodacom will provide prior written notice.

New Every Year (NEY) Terms & Conditions

Current Trade in process - https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/trade-ins

  1. Eligibility and Frequency: Customers who are flagged as NEY in-store can upgrade their devices every 12 months.
  2. Upgrade Process: Eligible customers on RED 50, 100, or 200GB VIP plans can upgrade in the 13th month of their contract. Their existing 24-month contract is terminated prematurely (Dependent on a recovery amount to be determined by the balance of contract.), and a new 24-month contract begins. In-store trade-ins are required.
  3. Eligible Plans: Only RED 50, 100, and 200GB VIP plans qualify for NEY trade-ins.
  4. Trade-In Process: Customers can return their current device to a Vodacom store. The trade-in value is determined by the device's condition. Sales agents provide a detailed quote, which customers must accept before proceeding with the order.
  5. Keep My Device: Customers can keep their current device. However, they will need to pay off the remaining balance on their current device contract and pay for the device associated with the new contract. The sales agents will provide a detailed quote which customers must accept before proceeding with the order.
  6. Device Diagnostic: An in-store diagnostic tool assesses the trade-in device's condition and recommends a trade-in amount based on the assessment and current guidelines.
  7. Service Availability: NEY is available when signing a new contract or upgrading to a RED 50, 100, or 200GB VIP plan.
  8. Cancellation: Cancelling your contract on any of the RED 50, 100 and 200GB forfeits your right to qualify for NEY.
  9. Account Status: Your account must be in good standing (no hard/soft locks or missed payments) to upgrade.
  10. Plan Changes: Switching to a non-RED 50, 100, or 200GB VIP plan cancels NEY and prevents future NEY upgrades. Customers can change within the VIP Tariffs.
  11. Eligibility for Existing Customers: Platinum customers on eligible plans are eligible for NEY.
  12. Vodacom's Right to Amend: Vodacom reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions. Significant changes will be communicated in writing.

Roaming Services Terms & Conditions

Current Roaming Travel Bundle Terms & Conditions - https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/shopping/v/data-travel-bundles

  1. The RED VIP 50, 100 and 200GB Tariffs include a 1GB travel bundle that's valid for 7 days. Additionally, RED VIP customers will receive a R99 discount on their data or integrated roaming/travel bundles. This only applied to RED VIP customers with an active roaming/travel bundle.

Fixed Access Wireless (FWA) discount Terms & Conditions

Current Home Internet Terms & Conditions - https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/home-internet-contract

  1. The discount on FWA lines will only apply to existing customers who activate a new RED VIP 50, 100, or 200GB tariff and have an active FWA line.
  2. The discount on FWA lines will only apply to existing customers who upgrade to a new RED VIP 50, 100, or 200GB tariff and have an active FWA line.
  3. If a customer on any of the RED VIP 50, 100, or 200GB tariffs has multiple FWA lines, the discount will only be applied to the least expensive FWA line.
  4. The discount will be applied only to the FWA line and not to the main bill amount.
  5. If a customer downgrades their main RED VIP tariff to a non-RED VIP tariff, the discount on the FWA line will be removed.

To place an order for Vodacom Fibre service, you must first confirm the availability of fibre in your area using one of the following methods:

What is the installation process? What is the installation process?
  • Once you've completed your application, your order is processed and added to the network build plan.
  • The fibre network is then rolled out in your area according to the build schedule.
  • The installation partner will contact you for an appointment to survey your home and plan the installation.
  • Once the installation plan is agreed upon, a separate appointment will be made with you for the installation partner to install the Vodacom Fibre service and required equipment at your home.
Can I take my Vodacom Fibre Broadband service with me if I relocate? Can I take my Vodacom Fibre Broadband service with me if I relocate?

Service relocations will be allowed subject to the availability of fibre infrastructure at the location you're moving to.

If our Vodacom team can provide Internet services at your new location, you'll be offered a service similar to the service you had at your previous location. However, you will incur additional costs relating to the provisioning of the service at the new location.
